As I was judging the 2012 competition of Cochon 555 in Los Angeles held today at the House of Blues Sunset Strip, I got to tour the house with general manager Dave Meyers. He made me discover “Table 945” located within the Foundation Room, the private club. It was a real discovery for me.
This table, lighted at night in blue by a lamp fixture made of empty bottles of Dan Aykroyd’s Crystal Head Vodka, is an ultra private one, on a covered terrace with a corner of view of Los Angeles. It could well be the nec plus ultra of the romantic dining rooms in LA.

On my way to the Johnny Hallyday opening night of his world tour at The Orpheum theater downtown Los Angeles, I stopped at Mercato di Vetro for what has now become a classic cocktail there: the truffle salt margarita.
French rocker Johnny Hallyday started his last world tour last night at The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. It was symbolic to him to start here, as Johnny got very, very sick in Los Angeles two years ago, and had to cancel a tour in France.
