No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you: I am in a bathtub surrounded by hanging honey bears! Where could I possibly be? At Industriel restaurant in downtown Los Angeles.
Chef Joseph Antonishek has done a great culinary job in this funky place. The restaurant has earned a spot on GAYOT.com’s list of Top 10 New & Notable Los Angeles Restaurants as well as the newly created Top 10 Happy Hour round-up.
View a photo gallery of the décor and the dishes I enjoyed there last week.

Not many people know that Sheriff of the County of Los Angeles Lee Baca is a Francophile. He very often attends the official Los Angeles Bastille Day festivities and even gives a speech as part of the celebration. In fact, the first time I met him, it was actually in Paris and not LA!

I really like this picture with designer Barbara Lazaroff, and co-owner of Spago Beverly Hills (currently closed for renovations). Thanks to her the old olive trees that were in the patio have been saved and will be replanted in a house of one of the charities she takes care of.
Barbara spends lots of her time raising money for charities. In fact, this photo was taken back in 2011 at “An Evening on the Beach”, a charity event supporting the mission of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels — the 2012 edition will be on July 26th. Come join us!

We may be behind bars in this photo, but chef Nona Sivley and I are not in jail but at Kerry Simon’s LA Market at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live. Since I was at L.A. Live last night, I could not resist popping in to the kitchen to say hello to her.
Remember Nona? She was the winner of season 8 of “Hell’s Kitchen.” The funny thing is that when I was on the show judging a challenge on episode 8, I compared her to another chef. And she ended up winning the show!
